HVDC Transmission Analysis and Applications Course

Held Nov 10-12, 2009 in Albany, New York

Brave souls from the West Coast came to balmy upstate New York for this course held at the Pterra Training room. When we held this course last year, we had good folks from the European Coast. There must be something in the fall weather here in landlocked Albany that brings our coastal friends to town. Or, it could be the quality of the course (we hope!).

Anyway, the course was again reviewed with a rating of 5.0 out 5 . Some of the comments from the participants:

  • Course content, time, etc were all very good. Exercises were most helpful.
  • All the instructors were very knowledgeable in subject matter.
  • I think it would be more effective if real problems were used instead of the IEEE 25 bus system.
  • Good job!

We agree on the use of real system data but find it difficult to tailor a public course with anything other than a generic model. So there we are. Thanks for the nice comments and the good review. You know this just encourages us to get better.
